What does MGO & NPA mean?
Every jar of New Zealand honey is labelled with numbers which show the strength of its UMF and MGO content and confirm it is genuine Manuka honey.
MGO stands for Methylglyoxal, the naturally-occurring chemical unique to MANUKA honey. Scientific tests have shown this chemical has antimicrobial properties and the more the honey contains, the better it is for you - its as simple as that!
NPA stands for Non-Peroxide Activity and is part of the UMF system, The higher the number the more likely it is to have a stronger healing anti-bacterial effect.
The Manuka bush doesn’t grow everywhere, which is why Manuka honey is rarer and at a higher price point than other honey. Manuka Honey is known for its many health benefits, both inside and out. Check out our skincare range for more health products,

As beekeepers, we have a great respect for these beautiful creatures and the way they work seamlessly with nature to produce totally natural products. We are committed to sustainability. We maintain full control over our products, right from the beehives themselves, through the extraction process and then the manufacturing & dispatch of all of our products.
Our hives are based around New Zealand - from the sunny coast of Gisborne to the rugged Tararua Ranges. With a total of 1200 hives and countless busy bees, our team of 6 beekeepers are kept busy working with the bees to turn all their hard work into wonderful products to benefit everyone. Using the beeswax from our hives for pure beeswax candles and amazing beeswax wraps and bottling the delicious honey.
Your order will be dispatched the following day and you should expect to recieve it within 3 - 5 days within New Zealand.
